Create a problem, shift the blame.

Sunday, June 10th, 2007

The moonbat left-wing of the Democratic Party is a master of creating problems and then successfully shifting the blame onto others.  For example, create a welfare state that destroys families and economic prosperity in minority communities then, with the complicity of their “liberal sleeper cells” in the mass media, fill the airwaves, op-ed pages and left-leaning cable news channels with constant disinformation that will shift the blame to the Right — then vilify and marginalize those who disagree with the “party line.”   It is a formula that has served the Left well for decades and has been very well documented in Bamboozled.

That’s why we weren’t surprised to read a little missive on News Hounds (“We watch Fox so you don’t have to.”) that talked about the coverage of last week’s Presidential Candidate debates, both Democratic and Republican.  It bemoans that Fox News Studio B had three segments (in which Angela was a guest) on the Republican debates the day after they occurred, while having less coverage following the previous Democratic debates.  On the surface, that does not seem “fair and balanced.”  However, there’s nary a mention of the fact that the Democrats first committed to a previous Fox News debate with the Congressional Black Caucus, then choked, after the Lefties started whining — leading to the withdrawal of the three leading contenders Clinton, Obama, and Edwards, thus rendering the debate irrelevant.  Interestingly, this happened after Rupert Murdoch had held a fund-raiser for Hillary during her last Senate campaign.  What was he thinking?  Hadn’t he studied enough about Hillary to realize that she’s got all the loyalty of a drunken coed at Mardi Gras?  She’s loyal to whomever tossed the last beaded necklace.

So, while the News Hounds piece is “technically” true, it’s the equivalent of quoting someone “out of context.”  By not reporting the “whole story,” the reader is left with a false impression.  In this case, a news organization was ”shunned” by a political party in a way that ended up costing it “big bucks.”  Now, don’t you imagine that the same news organization would think long and hard before committing major resorces for coverage of that political party’s events in the future?  Of course it would.

Here are some background sources for this.  (International Herald Tribune, “Fox News debate drives wedge between Democrats,” May 27, 2007.  CBS News, “Democrats Dismiss Fox News Debate,” May 31, 2007.)

Townhall Q&A: Angela is interviewed by Lisa De Pasquale

Monday, May 14th, 2007

Today, Angela’s recent interview with Lisa De Pasquale (bio) of the American Conservative Union, and CPAC Director, appeared on Townhall, where she is a columnist.  Here’s a brief quotation from the interview:

…the greatest “anti-poverty program” ever invented is the two-parent married family, an institution God created for optimal childrearing and happiness, with two sources of income…

GOP reaches out to women and minorities

Monday, April 30th, 2007

Angela was quoted today in the Commercial Appeal, a Scripps newspaper in Memphis, in an article by Halimah Abdullah

“I’m proud to be black. I’m proud to be a woman. I’m proud to be from Mississippi. And I’m a proud Republican.”

The article covers ongoing efforts by the GOP to attract support, even activism, from blacks, women, and Latinos.  Efforts that are effectively being thwarted by the liberal mainstream media.  Efforts that Angela’s book Bamboozled seeks to address.

As mentioned in the article, Katrina has hurt the GOP.  The Liberal Agenda media machine has effectively shifted blame for Katrina to President Bush from Democratic Mayor Ray Nagin — who delayed the order to evacuate until it was too late and let the city’s school bus fleet become submerged without carrying a single citizen of New Orleans to safety — and Democratic Governor Kathleen Blanco — who mishandled the request to federal authorities for assistance and reportedly said on a network satellite feed (We’re looking for the video!) that she “blew it.”  (See Bob Williams article Shifting the Blame in the Katrina Tragedy that has appeared in the Wall Street Journal and elsewhere.)  Further, the Liberal media has repeatedly mentioned “budget cuts” made by the Bush Administration for levees and flood control in Louisiana prior to Katrina — when in fact a large portion of these funds were being used by state and local officials for the construction of a New Orleans area marina and infrastruture for New Orleans floating casino boats.  (Political “pork” by any standard!)  Even CBS News, hardly known for being a “dupe” for conservatives and the GOP, is reporting continued mismanagement by Nagin — and infighting with his fellow Democrat, Kathleen Blanco, over federal assistance.  (CBS)

Not Happy with Conservative Ads?

Friday, April 27th, 2007

Liberal Blog logosPSB sidebarWe think that many liberals — many of whom mean well, but are misguided — just need a strong dose of truth to “see the light.”  Which is why we’ve been promoting Angela’s book on conservative, moderate, and liberal websites.  However, it appears that there are more than a few liberal websites, that don’t even want to display ads that promote conservative ideas — and all this time we thought that liberals were, well, “liberal” and wanted to include everybody, or at least listen to everybody.  (We even learned the words to “Kumbaya” so we could “fit in” at all of the liberal events we thought we were going to get invited to after advertising on Liberal blogs.)

But we were wrong.  Our pre-paid blog ads have been rejected by a number of liberal blogs, most notably: The Democratic Underground, among others.   So, at least for most of the liberal blogosphere, conservatives need not apply.

Interestingly, there were a few smaller liberal blogs that did take our money, and we have had a fair number of liberal curriosity seekers visiting the website.

But one in particular, Prairie State Blue, we must admit, was quite clever.  They took our money and placed an ad above it for an “add-on” for the Firefox Internet browser that would block “animated” advertisement files.  Cute.  But at least we know that we have their attention — and judging by the click-throughs — the attention of more than a few of their website visitors.  Odd behavior for a website with the motto: “Open Source Politics.”  But at least they took the ad, unlike some other Liberal websites.

So, it looks like we’re going to have to find some other way to reach Liberal audiences — between the mainstream media and the liberal blogmasters that won’t take our advertising, it’s going to be hard to get the Bamboozled message to those that need it most!  We’re open to suggestion.  Anybody?

”Slavery made me drink!” & ”Post-traumatic Slave Syndrome”

Wednesday, April 25th, 2007

That’s right, that’s one of the latest “I can’t hep it.  I’m a victim.” theories to emanate from American academia as highlighted in reporter Suzan Clarke’s article that appeared yesterday in Gannett’s The Journal News and their online arm, LoHud.com, “a multi-media company serving the Lower Hudson Valley (New York’s Westchester, Rockland and Putnam counties) since 1850.”    Entitled “RCC (Rockland Community College) speaker links effects of slavery to substance abuse,” the report goes on to explain Joy DeGruy Leary’s hypothesis that ”trauma of slavery remains a contributing factor in alcohol and drug abuse among blacks.”  Dr. Leary (bio from World People’s Blog) is a researcher and assistant professor at Oregon’s Portland State University Graduate School of Social Work.  She is noted for her “Post-Traumatic Slave Syndrome” theory — it even has its own book (review), conferences and website to lend it credibility and launch the good doctor’s career as a traveling salesman of victimhood.  At first, we thought that this must be some kind of joke website, like the “Flat Earth Society.”  (No offense to the FES.)  Then, when — thanks to blogger ”Third Wave Dave,” it came to our attention that there are some, relatively intelligent people, that actually take this seriously.  And fortunately, there are those, like TWD and Andrea Shea King (The Radio Patriot), that don’t.  (Here’s the link to TWD’s post, ”The Plague of ‘Victimhood’ Spreads to the Northwest” and the link to ASK’s post, “How Liberals Bamboozle America.”)

We appreciate TWD citing Angela’s book, Bamboozled, as the “cure” for this “syndrome.”  If you know someone who’s afflicted, you can get a signed copy (Think of it as a prescription, signed by a physician.) of Bamboozled to “cure” the “patient.”

Liberal Blogs attack.

Tuesday, April 24th, 2007

Taking a page out of the Clintonista playbook, “attack the source, not the position;” Liberal bloggers and some of their less scrupulous compadres are attacking Angela. Her success after the release of Bamboozled has painted a target on her back. Newshounds (”We watch Fox so you don’t have to.”) in “Ellen’s” April 22nd article, “FOX News Attacks Senator Reid For Saying Iraq War Is Lost, Avoids Saying That It Isn’t” and a “B-list” liberal blogger, Oliver Willis (”Like Kryptonite to Stupid”) wrote “A Microcosm Of How The Conservative Propaganda Machine Operates” seem to imply that being attractive and intelligent are mutually exclusive. Why not post the video instead of snide of commentary and Monday-morning quarterbacking of the analysts on Fox? (We’re working getting the video now for these segments.)Ann Coulter ad on liberal blog

Angela’s Bamboozled message is touching a very sensitive nerve in Liberal Land. Since the moonbats are short on facts to support their positions they’re falling back upon their tried-and-true tactics of personal attack. But at least it’s nice to know that even a liberal can enjoy cyber-capitalism once and while. Right above Willis’ “Advertise Liberally” banner promotion this morning was a Google ad for Human Events and Ann Coulter.

To borrow an oft-quoted, yet frequently misattributed, axiom: “If you’re not a liberal when you’re 25, you have no heart. If you’re not a conservative by the time you’re 35, you have no brain.” Maybe there’s hope for the young Mr Willis. Anybody want to contribute a copy of Bamboozled to help him begin his withdrawal from liberal Kool-Aid intoxication.

Angela tells Hillary and Obama: ”Give back ‘Gangsta’ rap money”

Saturday, April 21st, 2007

The following is the text of a press release by Angela McGlowan, calling on 2008 presidential candidates Senators Clinton and Obama to return money from “Gangsta Rap” sources.

Author Angela McGlowan Calls On Hillary And Obama To Give Back Gangsta Rap Money

The controversy with Don Imus has sparked a national debate about the impact and accountability of the language used by those holding the media’s spotlight, and particularly is zeroing in on the language used by hip-hop and ‘gangsta’ rap artists today.  Angela McGlowan, black Republican strategist, calls on Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama to give back ‘gangsta’ rap campaign dollars raised for their Presidential bids.
“If Hillary, Obama and Edwards claim to represent the voices of women and minorities they will stand firm and denounce the vulgar propaganda that is on our airwaves,”  says McGlowan.  “The hypocrisy that has been shown by all three candidates with Hillary having Timbaland host a rap fundraiser for her, Obama raising money for his campaign alongside Ludacris, and Edwards doing yoga with Russell Simmons is a travesty, and these politicians should come clean and do what’s right, instead of bamboozling us all again.”

McGlowan’s strong message towards extends into her new book Bamboozled: How Americans are being Exploited by the Lies of the Liberal Agenda.  In this, Angela McGlowan offers a wake-up call that exposes liberals’ continuing scheme to manipulate blacks, Latinos and women into supporting a political party that continues to sell them out and mislead them.  Bamboozled tells the real story of which political party has historically fought for the rights of blacks, Latinos and women, and why it is so essential that voters understand the Republican Party’s role in advancing civil rights before they elect our next president.Angela McGlowan, founder and president of Political Strategies and Insights, a Washington D.C. based consulting firm, interviews some of America’s biggest political players and insiders within Bamboozled , shedding a light on the baffling phenomenon as to why in the world blacks, Latinos and women vote for an ultra-liberal agenda – one that oppresses them and has a legacy that includes generational welfare dependence, a near-fatherless generation, soaring criminal delinquency, rampant drug addiction, and a disastrous educational system.   Interviews in Bamboozled include Rev. Al Sharpton, Bill O’Reilly, NOW president Kim Gandy, Weekly Standard editor Bill Kristol, Bonnie Erbe, host of PBS’ “To The Contrary”, Judge Joe Brown, Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Alphonso Jackson, former Secretary of Education Rod Paige, Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr., Robert Deposada, former president of the Latino Coalition, Center for Equal Opportunity Chair Linda Chavez, New York Times Best Selling author John McWhorter, and many more.Bamboozled exposes:

-How the GOP and its conservative policy prescriptions better represent the true values and interests of blacks, Latinos and women, and provide the best economic opportunities for these voters and their families. Today, for instance, blacks and Latinos enjoy explosive economic and entrepreneurial success and opportunities in America.
-How the liberal social policies have led to the decline of the family, yet the Democrats continue to champion a culture of government dependence, exploiting black, Latino and women voters under the guise of compassion. In reality, the erosion of the traditional family is a triumph for liberals.

-How “Victimhood Vendors” like Louis Farrakhan, Teddy Kennedy and Reverend Jesse Jackson spew an endless diet of racial paranoia and liberal policies, promoting the image of black misery and failure instead of offering solutions.
-How blacks and Latinos hold values of faith and family that should make them far more comfortable with the Republican Party, but they continue to be bamboozled by the Democrats into not voting their values.

-How the Democrats have re-written history about their involvement in the civil rights struggle. Most Americans do not know they were the party of the KKK and the Confederacy, or that the longest serving member of the Senate today, Senator Robert Byrd (D), is a former Klansman who filibustered the Civil Rights Act of 1964 for over 14 hours. The party’s history of oppression, lynching and intimidation has been hidden so well for so long that the mere mention of it today seems conspiratorial rather than factual.

-How the liberals pretend to “fight for the little guy,” but all they really are doing is trying to ensure that the little guy stays little. After all, if the little guy prospers, who would the liberals have to fight for?

-How the flood of illegal aliens in our country is considered a golden opportunity for Democrats; a two-for-one special that allows liberals to race-bait Latino voters by making Republicans look like bigots, plus giving the liberals the lions’ share of votes from the 12 million illegal aliens with the passage of an amnesty bill.

-How liberals like Hillary Clinton and John Kerry are fighting for the voting rights of convicted murderers, rapists, thugs and pedophiles. With 4 million felons in the USA, is this the most sought-after voting bloc by liberals?  Bamboozled will answer that for you.

Says Angela McGlowan, “The liberal agenda’s future success hinges on its ability to create a grievance culture of victimhood and dependency, with a ‘blame America first attitude’. Through the creation of a labyrinth of government programs, bureaucracies, the mainstream media and the ‘Hip Hop’ crew’s glorification of the ‘gangsta life’, liberals have successfully oppressed women, the poor and people of color, essentially sapping their drive for self-reliance by creating a dependency-inducing welfare culture.”

Don’t be Bamboozled any longer!

Black BarbieOn being Bamboozled

McGlowan shares her special brand of political maneuvering as prelude to Athens visit?

By Beth Jones

beth.jones@onlineathens.com

Story updated at 6:59 PM on Friday, April 13, 2007

From: www.AthensOnline.com

Go ahead. Call Angela McGlowan the Black Barbie.

She’s heard it before.

She’s not ashamed of her looks. After all, they helped McGlowan sneak past the gatekeepers into the exclusive club of Washington D.C.’s political elite.

As an optimistic college grad, McGlowan walked the halls of Congress passing out resumes. She never got an interview.

So McGlowan - in a move Elle Woods of “Legally Blonde” would surely endorse - decided to run for the title of Miss Washington, D.C. 1994. She won.

As part of her pageant duties, McGlowan frequently made appearances at the same events where political players came out to glad-hand. She introduced herself to the bigwigs and brought up issues she cared about, like the number of children she’d seen in D.C. running in the streets when they should have been in school.

“I turned my celebrity into access to make a difference,” she said.

Sure, some people may dismiss her for being a former beauty queen, but McGlowan doubts folks like that would have taken her seriously anyway. “Even before the title, you look a certain way,” she said.

Beauty helps, but a pretty face alone doesn’t ensure success, McGlowan said. Intellect isn’t enough to do it. Nor is having all the right connections.

It takes all three, she said. “And at the end of the day, it’s about who you help.”

McGlowan wrote her book “Bamboozled: How Americans are Being Exploited By the Lies of the Liberal Agenda” to win Hispanics, blacks and women over to her opinion that the Democratic party uses them for votes.

McGlowan will sign copies of her book at Barnes & Noble on Atlanta Highway Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and at the University of Georgia on Mondayat 7 p.m.

After retiring her sash, McGlowan worked as a legislative aide, a government affairs advisor to corporations and as a political analyst for Fox News. She has appeared on “Politically Incorrect” and recently made the cover of the Black Republican.

She’s chief executive and founder of Political Strategies and Insights, a government affairs and public relations consulting firm.

In “Bamboozled,” McGlowan argues that minorities and women should vote with the GOP because the party works to stimulate economic growth, which provides more business opportunities for all Americans.

Democrats, on the other hand, she believes, make poor people in these groups dependent on handouts. (One chapter in her book is called “Uncle Sam Isn’t Your ‘Baby Daddy’”).

Then there’s the fact that Republicans have traditionally been against abortion and gay marriage. That, McGlowan argues, fits with the values of many blacks and Hispanics.

She spends much of the book making the case that Democrats have re-written history as far as the party’s involvement in civil rights. McGlowan examines the role Democrats played in the Ku Klux Klan and points to the Klansman past of Senator Robert Byrd (D) who filibustered the Civil Rights Act of 1964 for more than 14 hours.

“The party’s history of oppression, lynching and intimidation has been hidden so well for so long,” state press materials for the book, “that the mere mention of it today seems conspiratorial rather than factual.”

Did we mention McGlowan’s book will likely be controversial?

So, she’s beautiful, divisive and good at giving sound bytes.

Sounds a little like conservative pundit Ann Coulter. Except McGlowan says she has something else, something that could alter the face of the 2008 presidential election: access to the black community.

“They might not agree with me, but they’ll accept me,” she said.

Wow, you Liberals sure are quick!

Saturday, April 14th, 2007

As the first week after the release of Bamboozled continues, after extensive pre-release promotion, appearances on national radio and television network programs, newspaper articles, interviews on major metro and regional radio outlets, etc.; Angela has appeared on the Liberal blogosphere “radar.”  A post appeared on Newshounds.  (Their motto is: “We watch FOX so that you don’t have to.”) commenting on last Saturday’s Heartland which had a segment that included Angela.  Apparently, it finally occured to them that Spike Lee  made a movie called Bamboozled.  You don’t say?

Spike Who?  You know, the guy who criticized Condoleezza Rice for shoe shopping in New York during Hurricane Katrina while he was “roughing it” in an Italian hotel.  Gee, and all this time, we thought that she was Secretary of State and in charge of foreign policy, not FEMA.  Of course, if she becomes President one day, she’d be in charge of both foreign policy and FEMA.  Hmmmm.  Had she and Bush gone charging down to the Gulf Coast after Katrina no doubt Liberals would have made charges of “political grandstanding” and complained that sorely needed emergency resources were being diverted to provide security for their visits — which would surely have been denigrated as nothing more than meaningless ”photo ops.”  (Did Bush and Condi even need to go?  After all, weren’t the Democratic mayor and state government doing a just a “bang up” job of handling matters?  Like waiting to order the evacuation of the city until the school bus fleet is underwater!)  Of course, the moonbat Left had nothing but praise for his award-winning “docuganda” Katrina film When the Levees Broke that included such notables as Harry Belafonte, Mayor Ray Nagin, and Gov. Kathleen Blanco.  No political agenda with a cast like that!  No siree!

The Newshounds wrote:

“Bamboozled” is also the title of a Spike Lee movie which satirizes media presentations of African Americans. Its lead character is a Harvard educated black man who works as a writer for a TV network that rejects his scripts for shows that portray intelligent black people. Some irony, here?

Can you say ”double standard?”  Lee can recycle stereotypes like blackface, malt liquor, and super-sized joints” — even use such cheap ploys as characters named “Timmy Hillnigger.”  And he did this back in 2000.  Where was the outrage?  Where were the protests?  Oh right, Spike is an artiste.  So that makes it OK — not!

Could you imagine if Imus had produced, or directed, this cinematic gem?  Or for that matter, if he’d even read the script?

Spike probably thought that by making his movie, giving it the title Bamboozled, and quoting Malcolm X,  he’d give his film the credibility that it lacks.  We wouldn’t be surprised if Spike consulted his lawyers to find out if he couldn’t sue over the title Bamboozled, because what is ironic is that Angela’s book Bamboozled is exposing the race-baiting, lies, and Liberal media agenda of which the movie Bamboozled is just another example.

You’ve been hoodwinked.  You’ve been had.  You’ve been took. You’ve been led astray, run amok.  You’ve been bamboozled.  — Malcolm X
